Danko Jones Gives Nickelback Two Thumbs Up

Two of the hottest bands around right now, Danko Jones and nickelback have been touring the country recently…as if you didn’t know. But, Danko Jones just gave Nickelback some props in a recent interview.

“And the Nickelback guys are really, really nice guys. Their crew has been treating us really well, too. And everyone in the respective cities that we’ve been in, like local crew and everybody there, has been nice to us. I mean our name has been around for a while. If you’re into the music industry in Canada, our name has been thrown about, so we’re not coming out of left field for everybody. I’d say 50 to 60 per cent of the Nickelback crowd has heard of us. Nickelback are pretty much working man’s rock, and we’re not too far away from workin’ man’s rock, so everybody’s diggin’ it.”

Not too shabby. Rock stars and nice guys. You don’t see that everyday.

Nickelback 2006 Tour Stops Announced

I guess I missed this one, but MTV has some of the first 2006 Nickelback tour dates published on their site. So, for those of us anxiously anticipating Chad Kroeger and the the gang’s 2006 tour, here is some candy for you. The tour will start in Duluth, Minnesota on January 30th and play another 8 (so far) dates in the midwest. MTV writer Chris Harris was able to glean/confirm a few dates via Nickelback’s publicist:

1/30 – Duluth, MN @ Duluth Entertainment Convention Center Arena

1/31 – Fargo, ND @ Fargodome

2/2 – Green Bay, WI @ Resch Center

2/3 – Madison, WI @ Alliant Energy Center

2/4 – Des Moines, IA @ Wells Fargo Arena

2/6 – Fort Wayne, IN @ Allen County Memorial Coliseum

2/10 – Omaha, NE @ Qwest Center Omaha

Good news for Nickelback and Danko Jones fans, DJ has just been named to the upcoming Canadian Nickelback tour slated to kick off at the CN Cnetre in BC, January 17th. Danko Jones joins rockers, Razor and Tie as the openers for Nickelback. SWEET. Danko Jones is coming off their US tour, promoting their, “We Sweat Blood” album. Good news, good news indeed.
